Seasonal employment

In some industries, seasonal workers are indispensable, for example during the harvest in agriculture or during the vacation season in the hospitality industry.

In order to enter the country for seasonal work, you must have a concrete job offer or an employment contract and suitable accommodation. This is a prerequisite for your visa and residence permit.

You may then stay in Germany for between 5 and 9 months within a year and may also extend your employment contract or change to another employer during this period.

Depending on your residence and insurance status, there are various requirements regarding social insurance in Germany. As a seasonal worker, you must be legally treated in the same way as seasonal workers from the EU.

This applies to the minimum employment age, pay and dismissal, working hours, vacations and public holidays as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace. You can find vacancies on all job boards.
