Migrant organizations

Migrant organizations (MO) or migrant self-organizations (MSO) are associations of various types and sizes of mainly people with a migrant background who define themselves by their origin, situation or interests. These can be of a cultural, religious or political nature, and can focus on self-help or leisure activities.

People from well over 120 countries of origin live in Jena. This heterogeneity is also reflected in the local migrant organizations. They are important dialog partners for the city, create places or occasions for encounters and enrich social coexistence in Jena.
