Medical care for refugees

Special provisions apply to medical care for asylum seekers. If you have arrived in Germany and have applied for asylum, you are entitled to healthcare in accordance with Section 4 of the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act.

Because you live together with many people in shared accommodation, the risk of infection is particularly high. An initial examination will ensure that you do not suffer from any communicable diseases and that you have received medical care. In addition to a general examination, this may also include an X-ray of the respiratory tract and a blood sample.

Help and advice centers
