Costs
Depending on your income, you pay fees for the care of your child. The Family Service Team of the City of Jena is responsible for determining the amount of fees. You may be exempt from paying daycare and after-school care fees if your income is below a minimum threshold or if you receive benefits in accordance with SGB II.
Food supply
The childcare facility concludes a supply contract with a food provider who delivers breakfast, hot lunch and a snack in the afternoon for the children, depending on the agreement. Special dietary requirements such as existing allergies or religious regulations are taken into consideration.
For schoolchildren, only lunch is usually provided, but the children can choose their meal in advance from several menu options.
The daily costs amount to around 3 to 5 euros, depending on the provider and the meals taken. They are usually debited from your account monthly by direct debit. If you receive benefits for education and participation, you pay a lower contribution towards the cost of meals.
